I spent the day out at Galway races for Ladies Day, and could not help but notice the young girls in outrageous platforms, it literally has got out of control! "When a woman looks as though she has the Oxford English Dictionary attached to her feet, its time for the pendulum to swing the other way" - says Tom Ford. So thankfully there is a change coming this season with designers embracing a lower more demure platform; the deal was sealed at Balenciaga where Nicolas Ghesquiere sent his models down the runway in platform-less, sleek pointy-toe shoes. Riccardo Tisci followed suit at Givenchy, as did a multitude of other designers - paving the way for a trend that is more flattering and will look sexy and elegant on any woman!
